April Lockhart

April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She started the guitar and piano lessons in the 7th grade, which ignited the interest of her. At the age of 12 April came up with her first original song Different. As April approached 14 years old, she dedicated the majority of her time making song concepts and perfecting her music. Over the next few years, she took notes together with her dad to LA in addition to NY. April also included additional topics in her hit song, Take my Hand. These topics were meant for the friends of hers who struggled with issues such as peer pressure and disabilities, or even teenage suicidal ideas. Lockhart, a popular lifestyle blogger and working in partnerships with clean beauty brands Ilia and YSL, has cultivated a large audience. Born without a left hand, Lockhart is a major part of herself. But it's not the entire tale. Because of this, her Instagram page isn't afraid to talk about her handicap, however it doesn't center around her disability neither. The profile is a statement. The message is that we are more than our physical selves. The identities we have are complex and we contain many different elements. Lockhart talks through video from Nashville. "I do not want it to define my life. I don't want to be merely identified as a specialist in disability. It doesn't impact my day-to-day routine. I still do all the things I normally would and I've adapted to my disability. It's a big element of my life so it is important to discuss the subject. Lockhart is a great example of how to stay going with self-acceptance. However, she acknowledges going through periods of being uncomfortable with her body, at times, feeling insecure to wear certain types of clothing showing how much of her body. She wears whatever she wants and posts photos of herself wearing the clothes she chooses on social media. It's all a process is the most important thing. I'm not sure if you ever arrive she says of self-love. This is, however, the case with anyone with doubts. I believe that it's really essential to surround yourself with people who can discern and understand your heart.
